Lucy Lou’s Greatest Wish Is Simple… To Be Loved.

Some dogs come into rescue with quiet stories behind their eyes, and Lucy Lou is one of those special souls.

This beautiful 2-year-old, 24 lb Chihuahua mix was rescued from a difficult hoarding situation, but her spirit shines brightly. Despite her past, Lucy Lou is full of hope and love, just waiting to share it with a family of her own.

Lucy Lou is a proud distemper survivor, and while she has a tiny neurological tic that’s barely noticeable, it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She loves zooming around the backyard, prancing happily like a little pony, and enjoying her daily walks. Every now and then she may have a slight wobble, but her joyful heart always keeps her moving forward.

She’s currently being fostered with both large and small dogs and gets along wonderfully with everyone. She’s also been cat tested and did great, and she’s gentle and kind with children.

When meeting new people, Lucy Lou can be a little shy and may tinkle a little if she’s approached too quickly. It’s simply a nervous response from all she’s been through. With a soft voice, patience, and kindness, she quickly begins to trust, and once she feels safe, the nervous tinkle disappears. Watching her open up is truly something special, as she blossoms into the sweetest, most loving companion.

Her housetraining is coming along beautifully with regular potty breaks, and each day she grows more confident and comfortable.

Lucy Lou doesn’t dwell on her past, she simply wakes up each day ready to love and be loved. Her heart is full, and she’s just waiting for someone to share it with.

An incredibly generous anonymous supporter has lovingly covered Lucy Lou’s adoption fee. Their only wish is that we find her the perfect forever home, a place where she will be cherished, feel safe, and know every single day just how deeply she is loved.
