Meet Jessica (aka MoMA)

At 4 years old and 15 pounds, Jessica is a sweet little Shih Tzu with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. Before coming to Backstreet Paws Rescue, Jessica spent much of her life having puppies. Now, for the very first time, she gets to enjoy being someone’s cherished companion instead of a mom.

Jessica has blossomed beautifully in foster care and is learning what it means to be spoiled. She loves car rides, enjoys making new doggy friends, and gets along well with both dogs and cats. She’s a laid back girl who is happiest spending her day lounging nearby, keeping an eye on her people, and soaking up all the love she missed out on before.

This little lady has a soft spot for cheese, chew sticks, and the word “cookie” which instantly gets her attention! She has the cutest little “woo-woo” instead of a bark and those big expressive eyes can melt even the toughest heart.

Jessica is house-trained with a routine and is continuing to make great progress. She’s quiet, low-maintenance, and would do wonderfully in a house, condo, or apartment. After a couple of walks or some playtime, she’s perfectly content to curl up beside you for a cuddle and a nap.

Having spent her early years raising puppies, Jessica is finally learning that life can be about her. She may need a little patience while she settles in, but once she feels safe, she is incredibly loyal, loving, and devoted to her people.
